
Shanono LG Chairman commits to building robust educational foundation for future generations

In the wake of revitalisation of the educational sector in Shanono Local Government, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Barau, has reaffirmed his commitment to providing quality education to students in the region.
This declaration was made during a symposium titled “A Wake-Up Call to Revive Education in Shanono Local Government,” held on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The event, organised by the Shanono Consultative Forum, brought together esteemed guests, including Dr. Nura Jaafar Shanono, Managing Director of WRECA, and Prof. Nura Magaji, Executive Secretary of Education Shanono LG.
Hon. Barau emphasised the vital role of the local government and community in shaping an educated and prosperous future.
He commended the Shanono Consultative Forum for their efforts in promoting educational excellence, particularly in providing additional lessons for students preparing for Science and Technical exams.
“The future of Shanono rests on the foundation of quality education, and our government is committed to ensuring that education is not just a priority, but a transformative force that shapes our future from the grassroots level all the way to higher institutions,” Hon. Barau stated.
The symposium marked the beginning of a renewed commitment to education in Shanono, with stakeholders urged to collaborate in revitalizing the sector.
