APC warns against politicising Ajayi Rogba’s death, demands thorough investigation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has warned against politicizing the death of Ajayi Rogba, describing the incident as a painful loss to the Esa-Oke community.

The Chairman of APC Ward 7, Esa-Oke, Siji Olamiju, urged security agencies to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Olamiju condemned what he described as attempts by some political actors to exploit the tragedy for partisan purposes, insisting that the death of a young man should not be turned into an avenue for political propaganda or media trials.

He stressed that allegations linking the incident to politics should not be entertained until the Police and other relevant security agencies conclude their investigations.

According to him, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. We pray that Almighty God grants them the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this painful and irreparable loss.”

“The All Precambrian Congress (APC), Ward 7, Esa-Oke, considers it necessary to address the growing attempts by some political actors to exploit this tragedy for partisan purposes. The death of a young man should never become an opportunity for political point-scoring or propaganda. Such actions are insensitive to the grief of the bereaved family and detrimental to the pursuit of justice.”

“We are particularly concerned that certain individuals have hastily linked this unfortunate incident to politics without allowing the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to conclude their investigations. Justice can only be achieved through a thorough, impartial, and professional investigation not through speculation, political rhetoric, or media trials.”

“It is equally important to emphasize that APC Ward 7 and the Director-General of the Osun APC Campaign Council, Hon. Wole Oke, have absolutely no connection whatsoever with the circumstances surrounding the death of Ajayi Rogba. Attempts to implicate the party or Hon. Wole Oke are entirely baseless, politically motivated, and unsupported by any credible evidence.”

“We respectfully urge His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and all public office holders to exercise restraint and allow law enforcement agencies to discharge their constitutional responsibilities independently, without interference or premature conclusions.”

“We also call on the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security agencies to conduct a comprehensive, transparent, and unbiased investigation by pursuing every credible lead and inviting all individuals whose testimonies may assist in uncovering the truth. This should include Erebe, Dele Ajayi, Barr. Idowu Akinshola, Abuga, Muri, Mewo White, and any other persons considered relevant by investigators. No individual should be exempted from lawful investigation, and no one should be presumed guilty without due process.”

“The circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident have generated public concern and varying accounts within the community. While different narratives continue to circulate, we firmly believe that only the outcome of a credible investigation should determine the true facts surrounding Ajayi Rogba’s death,” he said.
