APC resumes electronic membership registration nationwide

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the resumption of its electronic membership registration exercise across all wards and designated locations in the country.
The party, in a press statement signed by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka and released on Apr. 1, 2026, in Abuja, called on existing members to validate their membership while encouraging new entrants to register and join what it described as the "progressive family."
To be eligible, registrants must be 18 years or older and must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
According to the party, the e-registration exercise is designed to digitise its membership register, ensure the integrity of records, and enhance efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions.
The APC added that the initiative is also aimed at promoting internal democracy and strengthening the party's commitment to democratic innovation in Nigeria.
The resumption of the registration drive comes ahead of the 2027 general elections, a period during which political parties are expected to shore up their membership base and consolidate grassroots structures across the country.
The APC, which currently holds the presidency and controls a significant number of state governments, has in recent months seen a wave of defections from opposition parties, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), further expanding its national footprint.
With the e-registration now underway, the party appears to be taking deliberate steps to firm up its organisational structure and ensure its membership data is current, verified, and ready for the political season ahead.
