Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, and philanthropist Dr Emmanuel N. Musa have commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman North East, Comrade Dr. Mustapha Salihu, on his recent call to the Nigerian Bar, describing it as a reflection of discipline, focus, and intellectual depth.
Salihu, who also chairs the governing boards of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), was recently admitted to the Bar by the Body of Benchers in Abuja.
In a congratulatory message personally signed and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday, Boss Mustapha lauded the APC chieftain’s commitment to personal development despite the demands of public office.
“Being called to the Bar while serving in senior political and administrative positions is a remarkable achievement. It reflects personal discipline and a desire to deepen capacity in public service,” he said.
He noted that the legal profession would benefit from Salihu’s governance background, just as the public service space would equally gain from his legal insight.
On his part, Dr Emmanuel Musa, Chief Executive Officer of Emnamu Foundation, said Salihu’s accomplishment sends a strong message to young Nigerians, especially those from the North East, on the value of continuous learning and self-improvement.
“While this is a personal milestone, it is also a source of encouragement for emerging leaders who seek to grow in both knowledge and service. We commend him for this achievement,” he said.
Dr Musa expressed optimism that Salihu’s legal training would strengthen his oversight responsibilities, particularly in education sector regulation and human rights enforcement through TRCN and NAPTIP.
Both Mustapha and Musa extended their best wishes to the new lawyer and urged him to remain committed to the principles of justice, integrity, and public accountability.
