The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for the completion and commissioning of the new Court of Appeal Complex and residential quarters for judicial officers in Abuja.

The party also applauded the administration for commencing the construction of residential quarters for judges of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria and the Code of Conduct Tribunal, with the project expected to be completed by January 2027.

In a statement issued on Thursday by Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, the party described the projects as a major investment in strengthening Nigeria’s justice system and democratic institutions.

According to the APC, the newly commissioned projects include a modern Court of Appeal Complex equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and 20 residential units for Court of Appeal Justices and Federal High Court judges, while another 20-unit housing project for FCT High Court judges is scheduled for commissioning.

The party said the projects reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting the rule of law, safeguarding judicial independence, and improving the welfare of judicial officers.

“The delivery of these critical and massive judicial infrastructure projects reflects President Tinubu’s iron-clad commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting the rule of law, upholding the independence of the judiciary, and guaranteeing the dignity and welfare of judicial officers,” the statement read.

The APC added that providing world-class court facilities and quality accommodation for judges would improve judicial efficiency and reinforce public confidence in the justice system.

It also praised Wike for what it described as his effective leadership and timely execution of the projects.

“We extend our profound commendation to Hon. Minister Wike for his unalloyed commitment, leadership, effective, and timely execution of these projects in realization of President Tinubu’s broader vision of institutional reform, infrastructure development, and national progress,” Morka stated.

The party said the judicial infrastructure projects, unveiled as part of activities marking the third anniversary of the Tinubu administration, reaffirm the government’s commitment to effective justice delivery, respect for the rule of law, and the consolidation of Nigeria’s democracy.
