APC candidate commends INEC, peaceful Gombe by-election

Dr Musa Kallamu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency by-election, has commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

Kallamu also commended the arrangements put in place by the electoral authorities to facilitate smooth conduct of the exercise.

He said this on Saturday shortly after casting his vote at Dabam-Fulani Polling Unit in Kwami Local Government Area of the state.

Kallamu described the exercise as peaceful and well organised, adding that, “from what I have seen so far, the election is progressing peacefully, and is well organised.

“Voters are coming out to exercise their civic responsibility, and I am satisfied with the arrangements put in place by the electoral authorities,” he said.

Kallamu urged voters to remain peaceful and orderly throughout the exercise.

Prof. Umar Adamu, a lecturer and public affairs analyst, also described the election as peaceful and orderly.

Adamu said that voters had turned out to exercise their civic responsibility by voting for candidate of their choice.

He said that there was no intimidation or violence at the polling unit where he observed the process.

The don observed that electoral officials commenced the exercise properly and allowed accredited voters to cast their ballots without difficulties.

Adamu said that the exercise was generally hitch-free with no reported case of violence, intimidation or clash.

Also, Mr Usman Majidadi, a voter at Kofar Shugaba Adamu, Bakin Kasuwa PU, also described the process as peaceful and orderly.

Majidadi said that voting started at about 10:00 a.m, and continued smoothly at the centre.
