Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has declared Tuesday, September 23, 2025, a public holiday to mark the 38th anniversary of the state’s creation.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, the governor directed that all government offices, schools, and public institutions across the state observe the work-free day.

Governor Eno, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, extended warm wishes to the people of Akwa Ibom.

He urged them to celebrate the anniversary peacefully and joyfully while reflecting on the progress and unity of the state since its creation in 1987.
