The Akwa Ibom State Government has commenced the payment of a one-time ₦50,000 transport allowance to applicants who participated in the recently concluded Civil Service Recruitment Computer-Based Test (CBT).

The development follows a directive by Governor Umo Eno to cushion the financial burden of applicants who took part in the examination, as part of his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and social support.

The payment process is being coordinated by the Ministry of Science and Digital Economy and is carried out through direct transfers into the bank accounts earlier submitted by applicants on the Akwa Ibom State Employment Portal.

The government has cautioned applicants against submitting new bank details or responding to unofficial requests for personal or banking information, stressing that all payments are being processed using existing records.

In line with the administration’s transparency drive, applicants and members of the public can monitor payment progress in real time on the Employment Portal. Live statistics displayed on the portal reflect payments processed as of 11:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026, with updates continuing as disbursements are made in batches.

Applicants are also able to log into their individual portal accounts to confirm payment status, track progress, and download official payment receipts under the “Payments” section once disbursement is completed.

The state government advised beneficiaries who are yet to receive their allowance to remain patient until Wednesday, January 7, 2026, as payment processing is ongoing.

After that date, enquiries are to be directed strictly through official support channels provided by the Ministry of Science and Digital Economy.

For clarification or assistance, applicants are encouraged to contact support@employment.akwaibomstate.gov.ng or call the official helpline on 0201 229 1111.

Reaffirming its stance, the Akwa Ibom State Government said the initiative underscores its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the effective use of digital platforms in public service delivery, in line with the ARISE Agenda.
