The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that the driver of the Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle involved in the fatal road accident that included world boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been formally charged to court.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the driver, identified as Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, a 46-year-old male, was arraigned before the Sagamu Magistrate Court on January 2, 2026.
The police said the case was heard briefly before the court adjourned proceedings to January 20, 2026, to allow for further legal processes.
The Ogun State Police Command reiterated its commitment to due process and assured members of the public that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident would continue in line with the law.
