Barely 24 hours after a multiple-truck crash on Kara Bridge claimed several lives and caused major traffic congestion, another road accident occurred on Friday along the Otedola Bridge, inward the Lagos Secretariat.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the incident involved a 14-tyre tipper truck conveying granite and an inter-state commercial Mazda bus. The crash, which happened opposite Capital Oil just before the Otedola Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulted in the truck hitting the road barrier and spilling its contents across the road.

In a statement posted on its official X handle, LASTMA said: “A 14-tyre tipper conveying granite had a collision with an inter-state commercial Mazda bus. The tipper ran into the barrier and spilled its contents on the road opposite Capital Oil, just before the expressway on Otedola Bridge inward Secretariat. There is no significant effect on traffic flow at the moment.”

LASTMA officials confirmed that recovery operations were underway, with a tow truck expected at the scene. Traffic personnel were deployed to the area to manage movement and ensure safety.

Authorities have urged motorists to maintain caution and adhere to traffic safety regulations, especially along busy routes like Otedola and Kara bridges.
