Afenifere denounce impostor group, reaffirm support for Oyebanji

The Ekiti State Chapter of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has disclaimed a faction led by one Olayemi Olajuyinmi, describing the group as an assembly of political opportunists and impostors attempting to hijack the organization’s goodwill for pecuniary gains.

In a statement released by the chapter's Publicity Secretary, Biodun Akin-Fasae, the group warned the public against dealing with Olajuyinmi, whom they alleged is a fake doctor and a pastor with no fixed address.

The leadership of the chapter, under the chairmanship of Elder Jonathan Yemi Alade and Secretary, Chief Mrs. Ronke Okusanya, categorically stated that the rival group has no place in the authentic register of Afenifere in Ekiti State.

They denounced the activities of the faction as fraudulent and unauthorized, stressing that the individuals involved lack the mandate to speak or act on behalf of the socio-cultural organization.

Clarifying its political direction, the group emphasized that the authentic Ekiti Afenifere remains firmly rooted in its philosophy and is currently aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The statement unequivocally declared the chapter's support for the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

The group further alleged that the impostors appear to be operating under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to perpetuate deceit.

The Publicity Secretary maintained that the chapter has no relationship with the ADC or any political party other than the one it has publicly endorsed.

Akin-Fasae urged members of the public to disregard the claims of the Olajuyinmi-led group, assuring that the authentic leadership will not be swayed by the antics of charlatans.

He reaffirmed that the chapter would continue to uphold its integrity and values, refusing to compromise its principles for any reason.
