2026: Osun NURTW declares operation win your polling unit for Oyebamiji

The leadership and members of the Osun State Chapter of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, on Thursday, openly threw their weights behind the candidacy of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.
The transporters, in their numbers, declared an "operation-win-your-polling-unit" campaign for Oyebamiji.
This is just as Oyebamiji reaffirmed his commitment to run government of the people, by the people and for the people where the public welfare and general well-being will be at the front burner, saying "every citizen will feel government's impact under my watch."
Speaking during a congratulatory visit to Oyebamiji on his emergence at the party's primary, the acting Chairman, Osun State chapter of the NURTW, Comrade Kazeem Oyewale, said the Union had resolved to work assiduously and campaign rigorously for the emergence of Oyebamiji in the forthcoming governorship election.
Comrade Oyewale disclosed that every member of the Union in the state has been suffering due to "anti-NURTW policy" of the current administration in the state, a development that he said had paralyzed the operational potency of the Union.
He expressed optimism in the impeccable trackrecords of Oyebamiji in public and private sectors to transform the state and prioritize the welfare and well-being of the members of the Union in particular and Osun state in general.
"I stand before you today to express our gratitude for the warm reception accorded to my members. We have looked forward to this visit for some time to host us. We are primarily here to congratulate you and express our unflinching support for your aspiration.
"We have mobilized and sensitized our members to vote massively for you in the state governorship election coming up in August. Since our Union is known as one of the major employers of labour and major contributors to the country's economy, we need to potentially collaborate with your proposed administration in fostering development for the common good of all citizens. We have charged our members to return to their respective domains and deliver their polling you for APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun State", NURTW Chair stated.
In his remarks, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji expressed delight in the impressive turnout of the Union's members just as he reaffirmed his commitment to run all inclusive and participatory government when he becomes Governor.
Oyebamiji who acknowledged the pivotal roles being played by the Union in the socioeconomic development of any society noted that his government will do everything to make life worthwhile for all and sundry.
He urged members of the Union to remain steadfast, focused and unperturbed in their resolve to electing a masses-focused government.
Earlier, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke advised members of the Union to remain resolute and work in unison before, during and after the upcoming gubernatorial election in order to collectively install purposeful leadership of progressive party.
Adeleke who decried the way and manner members of the Union are being treated by the current administration assured succours when Oyebamiji becomes Governor.
