Adeleke rejects alleged federal might threats, targets August re-election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued a stern warning to the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that federal power is a tool for infrastructure and development, not a mechanism for subverting the will of the people.

Speaking in Osogbo to an enlarged gathering of Accord party leaders from across all 332 wards, the Governor condemned the APC’s repeated claims that it would deploy federal might to influence the upcoming August 15 election.

Adeleke defended President Bola Tinubu’s democratic credentials, arguing that the President is focused on projects like the Ibadan-Ilesa road reconstruction and student loan schemes rather than election rigging.

"Only electoral bandits boast of rigging in a democracy," Adeleke stated, urging citizens to remain vigilant.

The event saw a massive show of cross-party solidarity, with high-ranking figures such as House Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, PDP Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi, and Imole Movement Chairman Prof. Wale Oladipo all rallying behind Adeleke’s re-election bid.

Former Deputy Speaker Lasun Yusuf further charged supporters to adopt a house-to-house mobilization strategy to protect the integrity of the vote.
