In a major move to bolster infrastructure within the Ijesa North Federal Constituency, Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke officially flagged off the reconstruction of several critical roads and a strategic bridge in Obokun Local Government on Friday.

The projects include the vital bridge linking Ilahun and Ere Ijesa, as well as the Ibokun/Ilahun/Ere Ijesa–Iwoye Ijesa and Otan Ile–Esa Odo–Iwoye Ijesa road networks.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Governor Adeleke assured residents of both Obokun and Oriade Local Governments that contractors would mobilize to the sites immediately.
He emphasized that his administration is firmly dedicated to completing all ongoing infrastructural projects across the state to ensure that no community is left behind in his development agenda.
The Governor used the occasion to contrast his administration’s performance-first approach with what he described as a legacy of neglected representation in the area.
He specifically took aim at Honorable Wole Oke, an indigene of Obokun who recently defected to the APC.
Governor Adeleke lamented that despite Oke being favored with five terms in the National Assembly, he failed to facilitate meaningful developmental interventions for his constituents.
According to the Governor, it is heartbreaking that an official who held office for two decades chose personal aggrandizement over public service.
He further clarified that both Senator Fadahunsi and Hon. Wole Oke left the ruling party because they sought automatic tickets rather than submitting to the party’s requirement that performance serve as the primary yardstick for candidacy.
Welcoming the Governor to the constituency, the Obaala of Otan Ile, High Chief Isiaka, commended the Senator Adeleke-led administration for its multi-billion naira infrastructure drive.
He noted that the state has undergone a significant transformation in just three years, proving that the current government is prioritizing the welfare of the people over political patronage.
