Prominent Nigerian politician and former Senator, Dino Melaye, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is fully prepared to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Melaye, who officially defected to the ADC in July 2025 after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated that the party has moved beyond mere rhetoric.
He revealed that the ADC has mapped out a comprehensive tactical framework, which he termed “Plan A through Plan E,” specifically designed to dismantle the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) electoral machine.
“The APC has exhausted its political capital,” Melaye asserted, pointing to a perceived national yearning for a fresh alternative.
While he remained tight-lipped on the granular details of these “winning strategies,” he hinted that they involve a mix of grassroots mobilization, technological voter-protection tools, and potential strategic alliances with other opposition factions.
The ADC has recently intensified its positioning for 2027, including the unveiling of a new National Secretariat in Abuja and high-level meetings with disaffected members of other major parties.
Melaye’s bold claims signal that the ADC intends to transition from a “third force” into a primary contender, setting the stage for what promises to be a highly competitive and strategically complex presidential race.
