Osun 2026: Oyebamiji pledges inclusive governance if elected

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to operate an inclusive administration that integrates non-indigenes and diverse interest groups if elected in the August 15 poll.
Speaking during a public engagement with the Arewa community in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area on Sunday, Oyebamiji, represented by Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, stated that his government would adopt a structured approach to participatory governance.
He assured residents that they would be actively involved in both policy formulation and implementation.
Oyebamiji emphasized that this inclusive framework would bridge the gap between the government and the grassroots, specifically bringing farmers’ associations, trade unions, artisans, and non-indigene communities on board as key stakeholders.
“This administration will make them participate actively in governance and give them a sense of belonging,” he said, noting that the approach aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the state's benefit.
In response, the Seriki of the Arewa community in Obokun, Alhaji Ayuba Abubakar, commended the previous APC-led administration for its consistent engagement and support in resolving communal disputes. He specifically lauded Oyintiloye’s efforts in land acquisition for the community and the provision of palliatives.
While calling for a more business-friendly environment to boost economic growth, Alhaji Abubakar pledged the community's full support for the APC.
“We will support and vote for the APC in the forthcoming governorship election. Bola Oyebamiji is our candidate,” he declared.
