A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Abubakar Amuda Kannike, has announced that the party is set to unveil a committee of 50 wise men tasked with charting a new strategic direction for the organization and the nation.

Speaking with correspondents in Ilorin regarding recent developments within the party, Kannike emphasized that the ADC remains the most credible alternative for Nigerians seeking a shift from the current political status quo.

He argued that Nigeria cannot afford to slide into a one-party state, underscoring the necessity for the ADC to provide the electorate with superior options and a clear vision for governance.

Kannike, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, stressed that the current national climate demands concerted efforts to strengthen democratic institutions.

He explained that the wise men to be inaugurated will be responsible for fashioning comprehensive party guidelines and a manifesto designed to provide a definitive sense of direction for all members.

The former lawmaker remarked that adherence to these upcoming regulations will be mandatory for all elected party officials to ensure they remain accountable to the people.

He noted that the primary objective of democracy is the improvement of the welfare of the electorate, asserting that democratic governance only becomes meaningful when citizens feel the direct impact of people-oriented policies.

In his concluding remarks, Kannike stated that the ADC’s mission is to foster a sense of participation and belonging among Nigerians.

He maintained that through this new initiative, the party intends to lead the charge in delivering the dividends of democracy to every corner of the country.
