In a major security sweep in Kaduna State, a joint task force comprising the police and other security agencies apprehended 27 individuals suspected of criminal activity during a coordinated raid in the Kawo area.

The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed that the operation took place on the evening of Sunday, June 8th, 2025, around 8:30 p.m.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the raid was conducted in collaboration with personnel from the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), and local vigilante units.

Hassan disclosed that the operation specifically targeted known hideouts used by criminals in Kawo and nearby communities. A significant haul of dangerous items was recovered, including bladed weapons such as knives, axes, and cutlasses, along with substances believed to be Indian hemp and other illegal drugs.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, lauded the strong cooperation among the security agencies involved, noting that the effort is part of a wider crackdown on crime and drug abuse in the state.

“We remain resolute in our mission to secure Kaduna and ensure that law-abiding citizens can go about their daily activities without fear. There is no place for criminal elements in our communities,” CP Muhammad said.

He warned individuals planning to engage in criminal acts to either change course or leave the state, affirming that the Command will continue its relentless pursuit of peace and order.
