The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that Nigerians are fed up with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and are ready to embrace a new leadership direction come 2027.
Speaking through its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the hardship currently experienced across the country from skyrocketing living costs to worsening insecurity has made it clear that the APC has lost the people’s trust.
“The most important thing is that our job is half done with the current hunger in the land,” Abdullahi said. “Nigerians don’t need to be convinced anymore. The suffering is convincing enough.”
He described the Tinubu-led APC government as callous and disconnected from the plight of ordinary citizens, warning that a government capable of such hardship in its first term would only get worse if re-elected.
According to Abdullahi, the ADC’s primary focus is to drastically reduce the cost of living, beginning with a cut in petroleum prices, and to implement people-oriented policies that bridge the widening gap between the elite and the masses.
“They can see the difference in the lifestyle of those in government people with no iota of human feelings, except for themselves and their families,” he said. “The gap between them and the ordinary citizen is wider than ever.”
Abdullahi urged Nigerians to unite behind the ADC as a credible alternative in the 2027 general elections, stressing the urgency of rescuing the nation from continued economic and social decline.
“It is painful to see Nigerians unable to pay hospital bills, feed their families, afford school fees, or survive transportation costs,” he said. “We are on a mission to rescue this country from the clutches of leaders who lack empathy.”
The ADC maintained that Nigerians deserve a government that understands and responds to their needs, not one that worsens their hardship.
