The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, has commended the ongoing electronic registration of members by the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the exercise as clear evidence that the party remains the most organised and prepared for future electoral contests in Nigeria.
Afuye, who spoke in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, urged all loyal and committed APC members across the state to fully participate in the exercise, stressing that it would enable the party to accurately determine its support base and properly plan ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Mr Victor Ogunje, the deputy governor said the initiative, being coordinated by the Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda-led National Working Committee of the APC, was a strategic and forward-looking step that underscored the party’s readiness for electoral victory.
Describing the programme as a political masterstroke, Afuye said the data-driven membership registration was a critical component of modern party organisation and mobilisation.
“I appeal to all our members across the 177 wards in Ekiti State to actively participate in this exercise. Being captured in the e-registration process is a clear demonstration of loyalty and commitment to the party.
“This exercise clearly shows that the APC is the most dominant, most organised and most prepared political party for the 2027 elections and beyond,” she said.
The deputy governor praised the APC national leadership for adopting an innovative approach to membership management, noting that understanding the party’s numerical strength was essential for effective planning and mobilisation.
“I commend our national leaders for thinking outside the box. This is the best way to run a political party. We must know our strength in order to prepare adequately for elections. Membership drive and mobilisation are key pillars of party organisation,” Afuye added.
She expressed satisfaction with the level of enthusiasm shown by party members since the commencement of the exercise, thanking God for what she described as a smooth and encouraging start.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of the e-registration exercise in Ekiti State and Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, lauded the deputy governor for her leadership example and active participation in the exercise.
Adedayo expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance recorded on the second day of the exercise in the state, noting that it reflected the large number of loyal APC members in Ekiti.
He urged ward agents handling the registration to remain diligent and ensure that all party members are captured, in order to guarantee the overall success of the nationwide programme.
