‎2 friends docked for allegedly attacking businessman

 ​‌‌⁠⁠⁠‍⁠⁠‌⁠‍‍⁠​‌​‍‌Two friends were on Monday docked in a Dutse Senior Magistrates’ Court in Abuja, for allegedly attacking a businessman and damaging his N1.5million Samsung phone.

The police charged Mubarak Adamu, 25, and Abba Abdullahi, 23 with joint act, causing grievous hurt and mischief, contrary to Sections 79, 247 and 327 of the Penal Code Law.

‎The Prosecution Counsel, Juliana Atinko, told the court that the complainant, Isaac David, who lives in Gwarinpa, Abuja reported the matter at the Gwarinpa Police Station.

‎Atinko said that on Sept. 15, David boarded a tricycle from War College to Oando Filling Station in Gwarinpa.

‎She said before reaching the filling station, the defendants attacked David with a knife.

‎The prosecutor said the defendants injured the complainant’s right hand and damaged his Samsung cell phone, worth N1.5 million.

‎The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.

‎Atinko asked the court for a date to open the case.

‎Magistrate Umar Dodo admitted the defendants to bail with two reasonable sureties each.

‎He ordered the defendants to post an affidavit and undertaking and directed each surety to provide a bail bond of N150,000.

‎Dodo adjourned the matter until Oct.12 for hearing.
