Arsenal stormed back to the top of the Premier League on Saturday with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners, stung by a narrow defeat to Liverpool before the international break, came out sharp and controlled the contest from the first whistle. Their dominance was rewarded just before half-time when Martin Zubimendi smashed home a superb volley to open the scoring.
The momentum carried into the second half. Within minutes of the restart, Eberechi Eze carved open the Forest defence and slipped in Viktor Gyokeres, who doubled Arsenal’s lead with a composed finish.
Forest’s resistance crumbled further as Zubimendi rose highest to head in his second of the day from a Leandro Trossard cross, sealing three points and underlining Arsenal’s title intent.
The win leaves Mikel Arteta’s side with nine points from four games, enough to reclaim the summit for now. Liverpool will attempt to respond when they travel to Burnley on Sunday.
