Nigerian street-pop artiste Oniyide Azeez, popularly known as Zinoleesky, is stepping into a new era, launching his own imprint, Zinodict Music, with the release of his latest single “Nostalgia.”

The 26-year-old singer confirmed the move with a teaser post ahead of the track’s release, describing it as his first official drop under the new label, signalling a shift from his longtime association with Marlian Music.

Zinoleesky, who rose to prominence after signing to Naira Marley’s Marlian Music in 2019, built a loyal fanbase with hits like “Kilofeshe” and “Personal.” His exit from the label appears to be amicable, with subtle changes to his social media bio and branding pointing to a carefully planned transition into independence.

Nostalgia, released on April 23, has already begun gaining traction, debuting on Nigeria’s Apple Music chart and drawing attention for its reflective tone and retro-inspired aesthetic. The track hints at a more personal and introspective direction, marking what many see as a reset in both sound and identity.

Online reactions have been largely supportive, with fans praising the move as a bold step toward artistic control. Some also referenced the controversies that surrounded Marlian Music following the death of Mohbad in 2023, noting that the shift could represent a fresh chapter for the singer.

With Zinodict Music now in motion, Zinoleesky joins a growing list of Nigerian artistes taking ownership of their careers, as he looks to redefine his brand and expand his influence on his own terms.
