The publisher, Nigerian NewsDirect Newspaper, Dr. Samuel Ibiyemi has congratulated Prince Dapo Abiodun on his victory in the 2023 governorship election as governor-elect to retain his seat in Ogun State.
In a congratulatory letter he personally signed, Ibiyemi said the outcome of the election process had shown that Abiodun was the popular choice of Ogun State indigenes for the assignment.
“Your glittering track record of public service, foresight and grit in developing Ogun State and your administrative skill, as well as the courage you continue to demonstrate in fighting for good governance make you worthy of the high esteem and trust of Ogun State and the party everywhere in the state.
“I am elated and proud that the governorship election was manifestly free and fair, and conducted by the Independent National Electoral commission under a most convivial atmosphere. The outcome of the election process has shown that you are the popular choice of the party for that state assignment.
“I have no doubt that with your credentials, experience, antecedents and political sagacity, the governor went into the contest with confidence of overwhelming victory. Abiodun’s victory was a well-deserved one, considering his first term of working for good governance.”
He said with his victory, Abiodun government will continue to give dividends of democracy to the people of Ogun State, stating that Ogun indigenes across the board recognised his contributions to the development of the state.
“Abiodun had the capacity to provide the needed leadership that would consolidate the state’s democratic gains. The process of the election was free, fair and credible.
“This, according to him, reaffirmed that his re-emergence as Ogun State governor would again establish ground for justice, fairness, unity and political stability of the state”.
Ibiyemi charged Ogun indigenes to remain united and focused as the state marchs to another dispensation to treck path to greatness and well-being of the state.
“Again, I congratulate you on your well-deserved victory as the governor of Ogun State. I pray God to guide, guard you to paddle the ship of the state to a promised land.
The publisher out of his belief in the governor’s ability to deliver good governance canvassed and won his ward for the him.
