The Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has hit back at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council accusing the opposition party of engaging in political mischief and desperate propaganda.
Reacting to claims that the “OK” (Obi-Kwankwaso) ticket would step down at the eleventh hour in favor of the ADC, Kwankwaso maintained that his joint ticket with Peter Obi remains fully committed to the race and will not withdraw under any circumstances.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Kwankwaso dismissed the allegations that their platform is acting as a proxy for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He argued that the ADC campaign council has resorted to unnecessary attacks because it lacks a compelling alternative to offer Nigerians.
Instead of manufacturing false narratives about a last-minute withdrawal, Kwankwaso challenged the ADC team to focus on proving the competence of their own candidate and addressing serious allegations recently leveled against them by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Reiterating the viability of the NDC, Kwankwaso described the APC-led government as a failure while asserting that the ADC offers no genuine improvement for the country.
He maintained that the OK ticket stands as a formidable, healing force backed by a proven track record of service, uniting support from both Northern and Southern Nigeria to rescue the economy, security, and other critical sectors.
Urging supporters to ignore the rumors of a merger or withdrawal, Kwankwaso reaffirmed that the NDC remains the most robust opposition platform heading into the 2027 elections.
