‘You get mind o!’: EFCC reacts as X User lists Abuja Headquarters as Hotel for sale

In a rare display of digital wit, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has responded to a daring social media prankster who attempted to sell the agency’s multi-billion naira headquarters on the internet.

The online drama unfolded after an X user, posting under the handle @osere_x, shared a high-quality image of the commission’s high-security facility in Abuja, cheekily mislabeling it as a luxury hotel available for immediate purchase.

The mock real estate listing went viral after the user pegged the price of the hotel at N800 million, while humorously demanding an additional N120 million as an agent’s commission.

The post, which quickly gained traction across Nigerian social media circles, invited interested buyers to check the comment section for further details on the phantom property.

Rather than issuing a stern legal threat or a formal press release, the anti-graft agency opted for a more relatable, light-hearted approach to address the prank.

Replying directly to the post via its official X handle, the EFCC wrote, "You get mind o!"—a popular Nigerian pidgin expression translating to "You are very bold."

The agency’s witty comeback has been met with a wave of amusement from Nigerians, many of whom praised the commission for its uncharacteristic sense of humor.
