The Director-General (DG) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, has described women as critical to the party’s electoral structure, urging them to sustain mobilisation from the national level down to communities and polling units ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yari made the call in Abuja at the Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit, convened by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as part of activities to strengthen the APC’s women mobilisation structure for the 2027 elections.

The summit brought together APC women leaders and stakeholders from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, including wives of political office holders, members of the National Assembly, ministers, women support groups and other party stakeholders.

Yari said the Presidential Campaign Council was prepared to work with the women and support their mobilisation efforts, stressing the need for a coordinated campaign structure.

He urged the women to remain united and take their mobilisation to the grassroots, noting that their presence at the summit demonstrated their readiness to participate actively in the 2027 electoral process.

The APC women’s mobilisation effort is being structured across states, local government areas, wards, communities and polling units, with the party seeking to build sustained grassroots engagement ahead of the elections.

Speaking at the gathering, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, thanked Nigerian women for their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and urged them to return to their respective states to mobilise voters for the APC.

“I bring you greetings from Mr President, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who believes in the power of women and cares for Nigerian women. Let me start by saying thank you. Thank you for standing with him. Thank you for believing in the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she said.

She also thanked the women for their determination to support the President for a second term, urging them to communicate the administration’s programmes and policies to women and families at the grassroots.

Tinubu said the theme of the summit, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity,” represented what she described as the emerging impact of the administration’s economic reforms.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity, is not just a slogan. It is our reality. Our economy is stabilising, inflation is coming down, our foreign reserves are growing, investors are returning to Nigeria,” she said.

She also cited increased support for farmers and access to student loans by university students among the interventions of the administration.

The First Lady urged the women to explain the administration’s policies to Nigerians in their communities, saying President Tinubu had demonstrated the willingness to take difficult decisions.

“He is a leader who is bold enough to take the difficult decisions in the beginning. He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity,” she said.
