The National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) has revealed that it has successfully integrated the National Identification Numbers (NIN) of more than 15.6 million individuals into the National Social Register (NSR).
The agency made this known in a post on its verified X page.
According to NASSCO, the nationwide data-cleansing and harmonization initiative has successfully updated over 13.3 million unique households spanning 771 Local Government Areas across all 37 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The agency noted that the updates form part of continuous, collaborative efforts alongside state-level partners to elevate data quality, refine beneficiary identification processes, and establish a more transparent, inclusive, and responsive social safety net for vulnerable populations.
By tying verified digital identities directly to the social register, the agency aims to eliminate identity duplication, protect program integrity, and ensure that government interventions and support systems reach the intended recipients with precision and accountability.
