Pan Ocean Oil Corporation and the New Cross group of companies have revealed that they are investing in cleaner energy solutions to complement Nigeria’s evolving energy mix and support an inclusive energy transition.

The Group Chief Technical Officer, Dr. Abiodun Aunjabi, disclosed this while delivering the sponsor’s address at the 49th Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) 2026 in Lagos.

He highlighted that the group has built an integrated energy business by consolidating Pan Ocean Oil, New Cross Petroleum, New Cross Exploration and Production, New Cross Energy, and New X to drive operational excellence, innovation, and technical expertise.

Aunjabi said the company continues to support Nigeria’s energy needs through strategic partnerships with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), regulatory authorities, and host communities.

He added that the group is contributing to the domestic gas value chain through its gas production activities while supporting the country’s broader gas commercialization framework.

Addressing sustainability efforts, Aunjabi noted that the company is actively reducing its carbon footprint through the deployment of vapor recovery units and the continuous operation of its gas processing plants.

He emphasized that stable fiscal policies remain essential for attracting investment into the energy sector, while stressing that local content development and close collaboration among the government, investors, operators, and host communities are critical to achieving sustainable industry growth.

Indigenous companies, he noted, can continue to thrive when supported by policy certainty and sustained capacity building.
