The University of Ilorin has announced its 2024 convocation programme, featuring a range of events culminating in the institution’s 39th convocation ceremonies.

The highlight will be a lecture by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN.

In a statement, the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, outlined the schedule.

The convocation activities will commence with a Vice Chancellor’s Press Briefing on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the University Auditorium starting at 10:00 a.m.

On Friday, October 18, 2024, Chief Fagbemi will deliver the convocation lecture titled “Nurturing Democratic Values and Education for the Future of Nigeria,” at 9:45 a.m. in the same auditorium.

This will be followed by the presentation of the Convocation Play, “Nilee Wa’ (In Our Land),” at the institution’s Performing Arts Theatre.

The main convocation events will take place on Monday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 22, 2024, for graduates of the ‘4 Year’ and ‘5 Year’ programmes, along with the Postgraduate School.

Also, on October 22, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to commission several newly completed projects at the University.
