Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has approved the appointment of four new chief executives to head strategic government-owned enterprises.
This is part of his administration’s drive to reposition key institutions for greater operational efficiency and alignment with the state’s economic reform agenda.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibraheem Musa, the appointees include professionals with strong sectoral experience and proven track records. Ahmed Shehu Haruna, a seasoned financial expert and chartered accountant, has been appointed as the Acting Managing Director of the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company.
Haruna, who is currently the Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Matters, previously worked with KPMG and led several national and international audit engagements. He holds multiple academic qualifications, including a Master’s in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University and an MSc in Finance from the University of Lagos. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Finance and Business Management at the University of Salford, United Kingdom, where he also lectures at the Business School.
Barrister Naymarie Musa-Akande has been named the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Kaduna Industrial and Finance Company Limited. A respected legal practitioner and public servant, she previously served as the Kaduna State APC Woman Leader and held several advisory positions in the state government on legal and political matters.
Her professional background includes legal practice in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom, where she handled diverse cases in civil litigation, corporate law, and commercial transactions. She holds degrees in Law and International Development and is a doctoral student in Leadership and Strategic Studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.
Ibrahim Abdulkarim Adamu, a seasoned accountant and public administrator, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Authority. A former Managing Director of the Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company, Adamu hails from Saminaka and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting as well as postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration and International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University.
He is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and brings several decades of public sector experience to his new role.
Also appointed is Ibrahim Yusuf as the Managing Director of the Kaduna Ranch Development Company Limited. Yusuf is a dairy expert with nearly a decade of experience in livestock development, project implementation, and agricultural value chain enhancement.
He previously worked as a Dairy Technical Consultant with Sahel Consulting and served in various capacities with international organisations such as Intersos and Christian Aid UK. His work has focused on resolving farmer-herder conflicts through integrated livestock development projects that promote productivity and stability in the sector.
While congratulating the appointees, Governor Uba Sani urged them to deploy their knowledge and skills towards repositioning the agencies for maximum impact.
The Governor charged them to be innovative, adaptive, and results-driven in delivering services to the people of Kaduna State, while aligning their efforts with the government’s broader economic transformation agenda. The governor wished them divine guidance and success in the discharge of their new responsibilities.
