Trump becomes major talking point in Brazil’s presidential election

US President Donald Trump has become a major figure in Brazil’s presidential campaign ahead of the October presidential election.

Trump’s comments and recent actions have drawn attention because of his close ties with conservative politicians across Latin America. Political observers believe he could influence the outcome of Brazil’s election, which is expected to be closely contested.

The US president also proposed higher tariffs on some Brazilian products, a decision that upset Lula’s government and created fresh tensions between the two countries.

With polls showing a tight race between Lula and Bolsonaro, both camps are paying close attention to Trump’s actions and statements.
