A somber mood engulfed the Nasarawa Local Government Legislative Council on Wednesday following a harrowing road accident involving one of the council’s official vehicles.
The incident occurred along the busy Akwanga Road, near the Alushi Hospital, sending shockwaves through the local political community.
According to eyewitness accounts, the council vehicle was traveling along the notorious stretch when the unexpected happened. The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, but the impact left the vehicle severely damaged.
In what can only be described as a miracle, no lives were lost in the crash a fact that has brought immense relief to families and colleagues of the victims.
However, several occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries and were immediately rushed to Alushi Hospital, where they are currently receiving proper medical treatment. Hospital sources confirm that all injured persons are in stable condition.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nasarawa Local Government has yet to release an official statement, but sources within the council indicate that leadership is monitoring the situation closely and has pledged to cover all medical expenses.
Meanwhile, Residents along Akwanga Road raised concerns about road safety in the area, calling on authorities to implement urgent measures to prevent future occurrences.
