Tiwa Savage bags Honorary Doctorate Degree from University of Kent

Nigerian reputable singer and multi-award winner, Tiwa Savage, has made Nigeria proud not only at home but abroad as she bags an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.

The University of Kent recently took to their social media handle on Twitter to share a congratulatory message to the Afrobeat star, with photos of the glamours buzz as she acknowledged the certificate at Canterbury Cathedral on Friday. As the photo was captioned.

In a video uploaded by the institution, the top singer congratulated her colleagues while also urging them to do more.

In her message to the school class of 2022, the singer said: “I’m super proud and I want you to go out there, have fun and kill it. Be the best you that you can be because you truly deserve it.”

The university, in a statement, said Tiwa “will be made Doctor of Music in recognition of her inspirational and international career in music on July 15 in Canterbury.”

Savage completed her first degree in Business Administration at Kent, working momentarily with the Royal Bank of Scotland and she later enrolled at Berklee College of Music where graduated with a degree in professional music in 2007.
