The South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), a prominent support group for President Bola Tinubu, has declared that the President’s re-election in 2027 will mark the biggest landslide victory in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.

Speaking during the launch of SWAGA 2.0 in Lagos, the group’s National Chairman, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, dismissed growing speculation that northern Nigeria would not support Tinubu’s second-term bid. He described such claims as a myth rooted in misinformation and political mischief.

“We’re not afraid of 2027. What’s coming is the greatest landslide in our democratic history—even in the North,” Adeyeye said. “From the First Republic to date, the North has never voted as a single bloc. It’s not a political monolith. Interests vary across the region, and Tinubu is gaining traction everywhere.”

Adeyeye, a former Minister of State for Works and current Board Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority, said northern leaders are already expressing satisfaction with the Tinubu administration’s policies and infrastructural strides. He stressed that even within the opposition, no significant electoral force had emerged to threaten the President’s re-election prospects.

He pointed to Tinubu’s bold reforms—including the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira—as proof of leadership that prioritises national interest over political comfort. “He’s performing beyond expectations. Many thought he would bow to pressure, but he has faced issues head-on like a true statesman,” Adeyeye said.

The SWAGA chairman also highlighted major infrastructural projects being executed across the country, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Dual Carriageway, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, and Bodo-Bonny Road, among others, as concrete evidence of Tinubu’s performance.

He argued that no opposition coalition, including the one recently formed under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), could match the political momentum behind the President.

Adeyeye added that SWAGA 2.0 was launched to deepen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that the group would campaign vigorously at the right time. He said the next four years would bring accelerated growth and prosperity under Tinubu’s leadership.

“We’re convinced that Nigerians are in for a brighter future. If this much has been achieved in under two years, imagine what’s possible in eight,” he said.
