President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, after ending his work vacation ahead of schedule.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Monday, September 15.
The statement reads:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties.
“The President departed for France on September 4, 2025, to spend part of his annual holiday and was initially scheduled to divide the period between France and the United Kingdom.
“Last week in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace.
“Both leaders reviewed key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and France and agreed to deepen the partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability.”
President Tinubu had left the country on September 4 to commence part of his annual vacation in France. He was initially expected to split the holiday between France and the United Kingdom before the sudden decision to return earlier than planned.
During his stay in Paris, the President met with French President Emmanuel Macron where both leaders assessed bilateral cooperation and resolved to strengthen ties between their two countries. The meeting at the Élysée Palace was described by the Presidency as cordial and fruitful.
The President’s early return to Abuja will see him resume official engagements.
