President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on his 60th birthday, describing him as a dedicated public servant and a faithful executor of Lagos’ long-term development blueprint.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who turned 60 on today, was lauded for his consistent alignment with the strategic vision first initiated by President Tinubu during his own tenure as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.

In a statement signed by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu praised Governor Sanwo-Olu’s delivery of key infrastructural milestones, including the completion of the Blue and Red Rail Lines and the planned Purple Line to serve the Lekki corridor.

“Your execution of this vision is exemplified by landmark achievements, including completing the Blue and Red Rail lines and the ongoing preparations for the Purple Line, which will serve the vital Lekki corridor.

“I urge you to sustain this trajectory by prioritising impactful projects for Lagosians, notably the long-awaited Fourthly Mainland Bridge and the Freedom Way to Victoria Garden City (VGC) Road,” the President said.

President Tinubu also commended Sanwo-Olu’s public service career, which includes leadership roles such as Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation and commissioner appointments in three ministries—Economic Planning and Budget; Commerce and Industry; and Establishments, Training and Pensions.
