Tinubu can rule Nigeria from anywhere in the world — Bwala

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, declared on Tuesday that the president can govern Nigeria from anywhere in the world.

Bwala made the remark while faulting the presidential candidates of the African Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, for asking who is in charge of Nigeria.

While Tinubu is currently on vacation in Paris, Vice President Kashim Shettima is in the United States for the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

Responding to Atiku and Obi’s queries regarding who runs the country, Bwala stated that both presidential candidates have yet to define a clear alternative.

Posting on X, he wrote: “It is funny how opposition candidates are asking the question of who is in charge of Nigeria simply because the president and vice president are out of the country. For avoidance of doubt, the power of the president to govern Nigeria is not limited to geography. As Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, he can order, direct, delegate, and or administer the Constitution of Nigeria anywhere in the world. See Section 5 of the Constitution. Atiku and Peter Obi, you both have not yet defined or explained a clear alternative path other than populist rhetoric.”
