ThriveAgric, in partnership with Crust Microfinance Bank (MFB), is continuing its major empowerment drive, having successfully hosted the Kaduna leg of its Annual Gender and Youth Advocacy Event.
This latest milestone brings the total number of youths and women empowered by the initiative to over one thousand across five states.
The programme, which is part of a multi-state series supported by the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE), is designed to champion the economic empowerment of youth and women across Nigeria.
The Kaduna event gathered hundreds of beneficiaries alongside key policymakers and private sector stakeholders to discuss and advance inclusive growth strategies.
Held under the theme, “From Potential to Opportunity: Driving Gender-Inclusive Youth
Employment,” the event highlighted the significant progress made in providing young people and women with the skills, financial access, and market opportunities needed to secure decent jobs and sustainable incomes, particularly in the agricultural sector.
A core focus of the gathering was to increase awareness among youth and women,
empowering them to become influential change-makers in their communities.
Participants were equipped and encouraged to conduct step-down advocacy, ensuring that the conversations and decisions from the event translate into tangible action at the grassroots level, and that their voices are central to local development.
Speaking at the event, Uzoma Alika Head of Operations at ThriveAgric said, “Today’s event in Kaduna is a powerful demonstration of what is possible when we invest in the potential of our youth and women.”
“This is more than just a one-day event; it is a crucial part of a nationwide movement. We are not only providing training and financial tools but are also fostering a new generation of advocates who will champion inclusive growth in their own communities across Nigeria.”
The Kaduna event is one of several being held across the project’s implementation states,
which also include Bauchi, Benue, Niger, and Plateau.
The initiative, which has already reached 1,231 young people and women on its way to empowering 1,500 beneficiaries, showcases the real-world impact of the partnership.
This collaboration combines ThriveAgric’s digital agriculture solutions with Crust MFB’s tailored financial products to create a robust ecosystem for economic empowerment.
