Three days after abduction, Police confirm rescue of Adelabu’s family

Three days after their abduction, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have confirmed the rescue of the relatives of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.

Recall that unknown gunmen had abducted Mrs. Busayo John-Paul, the 43-year-old younger sister of Adelabu, along with her twin sons in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to reports, the victims were rescued alive during a late-night operation carried out around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6.

Two suspected kidnappers were neutralized in a gun duel with police operatives, and two firearms were recovered from the gang.

Police sources disclosed that sustained intelligence tracking and tactical pressure forced the kidnappers into a confrontation with operatives, leading to the successful rescue of the victims.

Security operatives are currently combing nearby areas for fleeing members of the kidnapping syndicate, some of whom are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
