TCN restores 60MVA transformer at Kukwaba substation after emergency maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored a 60MVA power transformer at the Kukwaba 132/33kV Transmission Substation following emergency maintenance.

TCN in a statement on Friday said the transformer was opened and isolated at 1:35pm on Thursday, September 24, to enable its maintenance crew replace a faulty blue-phase circuit breaker pole on the 33kV L31 feeder.

According to the company, the maintenance work was successfully completed and the transformer was restored to service at 8:31pm the same day.

TCN said the power interruption during the maintenance exercise affected customers of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

The company appreciated the understanding of the affected AEDC customers during the maintenance operation.
