T2 rejects misinformation on operational stability, citing NCC's national roaming framework
Telecommunications company T2, has strongly condemned a wave of misinformation circulating online, particularly narratives concerning its operational relationship with tower company IHS and the stability of its network.
T2 asserted that claims suggesting its service continuity is dependent on IHS infrastructure are technically false, uninformed, and recklessly misleading.
In a statement signed by T2 Management, the company directly addressed narratives, allegedly driven by pseudo-analysts operating without any credible industry knowledge, which it says grossly misrepresent the functioning of telecommunications networks and deliberately distort facts for engagement.
T2 clarified that its network continuity and service delivery are not dependent on IHS tower infrastructure in the manner being suggested. The company explained that these analysts are ignoring or are entirely unaware of the fundamental mechanics of National Roaming, a framework approved by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Under the National Roaming framework, operators are permitted to seamlessly leverage partner networks to ensure full coverage without relying solely on their own base stations.
The NCC established these guidelines to encourage resource sharing, reduce infrastructure duplication, and ensure subscribers can automatically access voice and data services when outside their home network's coverage area. This arrangement, T2 argues, makes claims of operational risk or service disruption due to IHS infrastructure issues entirely inaccurate.
T2 expressed concern that the distortions circulating online appear to go beyond mere misunderstanding.
The company pointed to the consistent inaccuracies and sensationalist framing as suggesting malicious intent, aimed at sowing confusion and creating a false impression of instability.
The management criticized self-proclaimed analysts for publishing content without grasping telecom operations, National Roaming, or infrastructure sharing implications.
T2 unequivocally rejected the misrepresentations in their entirety, asserting that its operations remain fully stable, fully supported, and entirely aligned with established industry models. The attempt to link T2’s operational integrity to IHS-related narratives was dismissed as nothing more than manufactured disinformation.
The company urged the public and stakeholders to disregard these false claims and rely exclusively on official communications from T2 or recognized industry authorities.
