Sule’s projects tackling poverty, unemployment – Nasarawa Assembly

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his giant strides in infrastructural development across the state.

The house said Gov. Sule’s infrastructural development “is tackling poverty and unemployment in the state.”

Mr Musa Gude, Chairman, House Committee on Urban Development, gave the commendation while playing host to the management of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Agency (NUDA) at the assembly on Friday.

The newsmen report that the NUDA management appeared before the committee for its budget performance assessment for the second quarter of 2026 in Lafia.

He said the projects executed by the agency, included the state ultra-modern secretariat, Lafia flyover and underpass, as well as Akwanga underpass and other ongoing construction projects across the state.

The projects, according to the lawmaker, will bring development to the state.

“I want to appreciate our amiable governor, His Excellency Abdullahi Sule, for his infrastructural development state wide.

“These projects have direct bearing on the lives of our people across the state,” he said.

Gude also commended the agency for its good performance through standard work in the state.

“The successes recorded so far in the year under review are commendable, keep it up.

“I want to appreciate you for providing quality and standard work in accordance with the contract terms.

“I also appreciate Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his support and for putting you and your team in the agency to achieve his vision and for you to contribute positively to the development of the state,” he said.

The committee chairman said the committee would embark on an assessment tour to inspect ongoing projects across the state.

He assured the agency of the committee’s support to enable it succeed.

Earlier, the Managing Director of the Nasarawa State Urban Development Agency (NUDA), Mr Mohammed Wada, appreciated the committee for supporting its activities.

He also appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his continued support to the agency towards achieving its milestones.

The managing director also said the agency had intensified enforcement against illegal structures and unauthorised developments across the state, especially in Lafia, Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas.
