Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc has resumed trading on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) following the successful completion of its share capital reconstruction.

The reconstruction saw the delisting of 68.50 billion ordinary shares from the Daily Official List, which were replaced by 6.85 billion reconstructed ordinary shares of 50 kobo each, listed at N77.00 per share.

Recall that trading in the company’s shares had been suspended since September 23, 2026, to facilitate the process. With the reconstruction concluded, the NGX has officially lifted the suspension, allowing market activities to resume.

Market analysts however note that the adjustment to a N77.00 listing price is a direct mathematical outcome of the 90% reduction in outstanding shares and should not be misconstrued as an equivalent surge in underlying shareholder value.
