SSANU, NASU mobilize nationwide protest for Thursday

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) have jointly declared a nationwide protest for Thursday, October 9, 2025, over the Federal Government’s persistent failure to address their outstanding demands.

The joint unions, recognizing the need for collective action, have directed all their branches across the country’s universities and associated institutions to hold emergency meetings today, Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

These crucial meetings are intended to rapidly mobilize their members for the protest activities planned for the following day. This unified action will involve various forms of demonstration, including marches within university campus environments, public displays using placards to broadcast their grievances, and organized press briefings to articulate their position clearly to the media and the public.

This massive mobilization is a bid to exert significant pressure on the government to meet the financial and welfare demands of their non-academic members.
