Solewant Group set to launch protective coating paint

All is now set for the official launch of Solewant Specialty Protective Coating (SSPC) Paint, slated for July 31, 2026, at the company’s Industrial Park in Alode-Onne, Rivers State.

Addressing journalists on Monday after a pre-launch meeting with stakeholders and partners from academia, the Group Executive Director of the Paint Subsidiary, Mr. Matthew Agara, said quality remains the watchword of the Solewant Group of Companies.

He emphasized that the SSPC Paint will be no exception, as the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has already certified the product.

Mr. Agara added that all roads will lead to the Solewant Group Industrial Park on Friday, July 31, 2026, when the product is officially unveiled.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Solewant Energy Training Institute, Dr. Benjamin Ubleble, described paint as playing the role of clothing in the oil and gas industry.

He pointed out that assets in the sector must be protected to prolong their lifespan, a goal best achieved through the advent of Solewant Specialty Protective Coating Paint.

According to him, Solewant previously represented foreign partners in the paint subsector, but current industry demands require local production, prompting the development of SSPC.

This, Dr. Ubleble noted, will curb the capital flight lost to importation.

He added that government officials, including the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, are expected to grace the occasion, expressing confidence that the SSPC will be successfully launched at Eleme in Rivers State.

Adding his voice, the General Manager of Business Development, Dr. Felix Onyela, stated that by producing this paint, Solewant aims to bridge a long-standing gap in the oil and gas industry regarding protective coatings.

He urged all stakeholders to attend the launch on July 31.

In his remarks, the Group General Manager of Human Resources, Mr. Kingsley Okere, described the SSPC Paint as unique, noting that Solewant Group is synonymous with quality and high standards.

He stressed that the paint is specially formulated to suit the peculiar environment of Nigeria while meeting global market demands, urging all potential consumers to embrace it.
