In a significant move to bolster internal security and community policing, the Solewant Group of Companies has donated a fully furnished building to the Nigeria Police Force for use as a new station in Alode, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The facility, which was inaugurated on Saturday, is equipped with a solar inverter system for uninterrupted power supply and a borehole to ensure constant water access, marking a major upgrade in infrastructure for local law enforcement.

The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, Mr. Olugbenga Adepoju, commended the company for the gesture during the inauguration ceremony. Represented by the Area Commander, Eleme, ACP Opayemi Olufunke, the Commissioner described the donation as a vital contribution to the security architecture of the state.
He urged other corporate organizations operating within Rivers State to emulate Solewant’s example by partnering with the police to create a safer environment for business and daily life.

The CP further charged the Alode community to cooperate with law enforcement officers to maximize the benefits of the new station.

Speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director of Solewant, Mr. Solomon Ewanehi, emphasized that security is a collective responsibility, noting that insecurity, when left unchecked, affects everyone regardless of status.

He cited recent security infractions near the company’s facilities in Alode as a primary motivator for the collaboration.

Mr. Ewanehi situated the donation within the broader context of national economic stability, referencing the Federal Government’s current push to increase oil output.

He explained that as a member of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), Solewant is committed to supporting the police in securing the environment necessary for oil production and economic growth.

“Solewant, as a member of PETAN, is bound to support the police to provide security for Nigerians,” Ewanehi stated. “Moreover, the Federal Government is eager to increase oil production to consolidate current economic development, making a secure environment essential.”

He also expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police for approving the establishment of the police post in Alode, a move expected to curb criminal activities in the area.

The high point of the ceremony was the formal handover of the title documents for the land and the building to the police command, cementing the transfer of ownership and operational control.
