Shippers’ Council resolve SIFAX, AGL vessel berthing dispute

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has resolved an operational dispute involving SIFAX Group and AGL Logistics over the berthing of a vessel operated by AGL Logistics, leading to a peaceful resolution between both parties.
According to the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Dr. Akutah Pius, the intervention was part of the Council’s regulatory responsibility to ensure seamless port operations, trade facilitation, and industrial harmony within Nigeria’s maritime sector.
He stressed the need for the optimal utilization of terminal facilities and the protection of Nigeria’s maritime image through stronger collaboration among industry stakeholders.
The engagement concluded with a mutual agreement on cargo evacuation procedures and improved operational synergy between the affected parties.
The managements of both SIFAX Group and AGL Logistics commended the Nigerian Shippers’ Council and Dr. Akutah Pius for the swift intervention, describing the Council’s response as a demonstration of effective maritime regulation and conflict resolution.
