Shettima spends two-week leave on study, reflections

Vice President Kashim Shettima has dedicated his ongoing two-week leave to study, reflection, and intellectual renewal, according to a statement released on Monday by his office.

Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), noted that stepping away from daily administrative routines allows the Vice President to review policy ideas with greater clarity and deepen the knowledge required for continued national service.

“Leadership is sustained by the willingness to keep learning,” Nkwocha stated. “Sometimes, stepping away from the daily rush creates the space to examine ideas more carefully and return to responsibility with greater clarity.”

The presidential media aide emphasized that learning remains essential even after assuming high office, noting that greater responsibility makes continuous intellectual engagement even more necessary.

The two-week leave, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is Vice President Shettima’s first formal break since assuming office in May 2023.
