The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed two separate appeals challenging the outcome of the 2024 Ondo State governorship election.
In the first case, the apex court struck out the appeal filed by Mr Bamidele Akingboye, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
His counsel formally applied to withdraw the case following the death of the appellant. Counsel to the respondents raised no objection.
A five-member panel led by Justice Iyang Okoro consequently dismissed the matter.
Also, another appeal filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its governorship candidate was withdrawn after their counsel made a formal application, leading to its dismissal by the court.
